The tragic truth of how 15-year-old British girl Scarlett Keeling died is finally out, the young girl, not yet an adult was heavily drugged, brutally raped and left to die on a Goa beach.According to the confession of the alleged killer Samson D'Souza, a waiter at the bar Scarlett had visited, she was given a cocktail of drugs by Shannaboy, a notorious drug dealer, with the intent of raping her.How events unfolded:

Samson then left her in the shallow waters of the beach to drown.This completely contradicts the initial version of the Goa Police which claimed Scarlett died in accidental drowning. This despite the numerous signs of assault on her body.One of the accused, a drug dealer named Placido Carvalho alias Shannaboy was arrested on Wednesday night, after Samson's confession. Carvalho will appear in court on Thursday, where police will apply to detain him for questioning for 14 days.Shannaboy is accused of giving Scarlett cocktail of drugs.According to sources, the police is also investigating the way some senior officers tried to scuttle the probe and have suspended one policemen who was a part of the original investigation.A viscera test will be done on Thursday at the Kalina Lab in Mumbai to get some more clues on the case.Keeling's mother Fiona McKeon has been demanding a CBI inquiry alleging that the Goa Police deliberately botched up the investigations. She says, even the latest development is another attempt at a cover-up.However, consistent pressure from Scarlett's mother Fiona and the media forced the Goa government to reinvestigate the case and carry out a second autopsy on her body.
